Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by Darlene Whaley.

Ingredients For layered crabmeat appetizer

12 ozcream cheese, softened to room temperature

1 Tbspworcestershire sauce
-
1 Tbsplemon juice
-
2 Tbspgrated onion
-
1 pinchgarlic salt
-
12 ozbottle cocktail sauce
-
4 ozcan crabmeat, drained

chopped parsley
-
ritz crackers
How To Make layered crabmeat appetizer

1Mix cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, grated onion and garlic salt.

2Spread mixture on 14-inch glass plate. .

3Cover mixture with cocktail sauce.

4Sprinkle crabmeat over cocktail sauce.

5Sprinkle parsley on top of crabmeat.

6Cover with plastic wrap.

7Keep refrigerated for at least 12 hours before serving
