Ingredients For crispy clam fritters

  • 1 can
    (11 oz.) minced clams, drained
  • 4 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1/2 c
    green onions, sliced
  • 1/4-1/2 c
    very finely diced red bell peppr
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp
    hot sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 2/3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • canola oil for frying

How To Make crispy clam fritters

  • 1
    Combine clams, garlic, onion, eggs, butter, lemon juice, hot sauce, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl; mix well
  • 2
    Combine flour and baking powder; add to clam mixture and stir until moistened.

    Heat fryer. Drop clam mixture into deep, hot oil by tablespoonfuls. Fry until light golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with tartar, cocktail, honey mustard, remoulade sauce or or my Zesty sauce (I have recipes most of these if you want to search them)
