These wings are delicious. A bit of heat and a bit of sweet. My husband talks me into making them every Sunday for the football games. Leftovers are yummy as well.

These chicken wings are fried and baked. The meat falls off the bone. With some heat, but not too much, the tangy sauce is really good. If it's too spicy for your taste buds, add another 1 Tbsp of honey and brown sugar. They are wings worth the wait and will be devoured on game day.

Ingredients For wings worth the wait

  • 4 lb
    meaty chicken wings and drummettes
  • salt
  • pepper
  • peanut oil
  • 3/4 c
    Texas Pete's wing sauce or your favorite
  • 1 can
    chopped green chiles (4 oz)
  • 2 Tbsp
    honey
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 5 dash
    Tabasco sauce

How To Make wings worth the wait

  • Salt and pepper dried chicken wings.

    Dry wings thoroughly and salt and pepper them.
  • Fry in batches.

    Fry wings for 9 minutes in peanut oil. I use a Fry Daddy and fry in three batches.
  • Drain on paper towels.

  • Mix wing sauce, chiles, honey, brown sugar, and Tabasco.

    In a large mixing bowl combine wing sauce, chiles, honey, brown sugar, and tabasco.
  • Toss the wings in the sauce.

    Place all wings into the bowl and coat well. Let wings rest while preheating the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Pour the wings onto a sheet pan.
