baked sweet honey chili wings

This Is a recipe I created. The Sweet Chili wings are sweet with a touch of heat. You may want to double this recipe. They are that delicious. They were polished off in 10 minutes in my home. I bet you won't have any leftovers. Grab a napkin and dig in.

Ingredients For baked sweet honey chili wings

  • 4 lb
    chicken wings cut up
  • SAUCE
  • 1 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 1/2 c
    honey
  • 1/4 c
    cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c
    soy sauce ( i used low sodium)
  • 1/2 c
    packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp
    chil powder
  • 1 tsp
    cumin powder
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt ( skip if using regular soy sauce)
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1
    red chili pepper finely diced
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp
    cayenne pepper( adjust to taste)
  • NOTE: YOU CAN MAKE THE SAUCE AHEAD OF TIME. STORE IT IN THE FRIDGE. MAKE EXTRA AND USE IT ON BBQ CHICKEN AND RIBS TOO.

How To Make baked sweet honey chili wings

    Preheat oven to 500 degree's.

    Into a sauce pan. Combine all of the sauce ingredients. Mix well.

    Bring sauce to a boil on high heat. Reduce heat to medium low. Check and stir. It should be Cooked in about 15 minutes, or until thick. Remove from heat.

    With a sharp knife. Cut tips from wings. Discard tips. Break at joint. Cut wings in half. You should have two pieces for each wing.

    Place half of the sauce in a large bowl. Toss the wings pieces in half of the of sauce to coat.

    Place wings on foil lined baking sheet. Bake on center rack at 500 degree's for about 15 minutes, or until browned.

    Remove wings from oven and pour of grease. Flip wings and place back in oven. Bake another 15 minutes or until tops are browned. Place remaining sauce in a large clean bowl.

    Remove wings from oven. Place in the bowl of sauce. Toss until coated with a large spoon.

    Remove wings from bowl to platter. Serve hot. Keep plenty of napkins nearby. Enjoy!
