party essentials: the ultimate chicken dip
Had my first holiday open house yesterday, and I always like to make tasty finger foods to put on the sideboards. I put this simple dip together out of some rotisserie chickens I had made, and it was so popular, I thought it needed posting. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen. Happy Holidays.

Ingredients For party essentials: the ultimate chicken dip

1 lbchicken, more on this later

4 ozcream cheese

2 Tbspparmesan cheese, freshly grated

1 - 2 Tbspdijon mustard, i prefer grey poupon

1 - 2 Tbsphot sauce, i prefer frank’s

1 - 2 dashlemon juice, freshly squeezed

sour cream, as needed
-
salt, kosher variety, to taste

black pepper, freshly ground, to taste

1PREP/PREPARE

2You will need a skillet or saucepan to make this recipe.

3The type of chicken you use is up to you; however, it must be precooked and shredded.

4Gather your ingredients (mise en place).

5Add the shredded, precooked chicken to a skillet or pan.

6Add the cream cheese, set the burner to low, low, and allow the cream cheese to soften and melt, about 20 minutes.

7When melted, stir in the parmesan cheese, mustard, hot sauce, and lemon juice. Then add the sour cream, a bit at a time until you have a soft dippable consistency. I usually add 3 – 4 tablespoons.

8Add some salt and pepper, to taste.

10Serve with sturdy chips or toast points. Enjoy.
