How To Make party essentials: baked cajun chicken poppers
-
1PREP/PREPARE
-
2CHICKEN BITES
-
3Gather your ingredients (mise en place).
-
4Chef’s Note: If you don’t want to grind your own chicken, then get a pound of pre-ground at the market.
-
5Chef’s Tip: The easiest way to mince the veggies, is to place them all in a mini food prep and give it a few pulses until they are nicely minced.
-
6In a large bowl add all the ingredients for the chicken bites, and gently combine.
-
7THE COATING
-
8Gather your ingredients (mise en place).
-
9Combine the parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs in a bowl or tray.
-
10Chef’s Tip: I like to add a bit of cajun seasoning to the mixture… just to give them a little extra kick.
-
11Place a rack in the middle position, and preheat the oven to 360f (180c).
-
12Take about 1.5 ounces (40g) of the chicken mixture, and form into a ball.
-
13Chef’s Note: You should have enough to make about 12 - 14 balls.
-
14Roll in the bread crumb/parmesan mixture and thoroughly coat.
-
15Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and repeat for the other chicken balls.
-
16Chef's Tip: If you have a rack for your baking sheet, use it.
-
17Add the tray to the oven, and bake until the chicken is cooked through, and they begin to turn a nice golden brown, about 20 – 25 minutes.
