My oldest son made these the first time I ever tasted them. I was scared that they would set my mouth on fire, but I discovered by cooking them, the heat becomes milder. We all love the combination of cream cheese, chives, bacon and jalapenos!! Makes my mouth water just thinking about them!! MMmmmmm!

Ingredients For superjalapeno poppers

  • 12
    jalapenos, fresh
  • 1 box
    cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 c
    chives, chopped
  • 1 lb
    bacon, uncooked

How To Make superjalapeno poppers

  • 1
Heat oven to 300 degrees. Wearing rubber gloves to protect your skin, wash the jalapenos then cut off stems and slice in half long ways. Take a teaspoon and scoop out seeds and membranes in peppers. Wash to remove any lingering seeds.
  • 2
Mix the cream cheese and chives thoroughly and place a spoonful in each jalapeno, filling them and smoothing them out.
  • 3
Cut the bacon in half and wrap each half around a jalapeno securing with a toothpick if needed. Place on a cookie sheet.
  • 4
Place cookie sheet in oven and bake slowly until bacon is done to your liking. You may want to turn them after a few minutes to cook the bacon on the bottom. (If you prefer, you may broil these. However, watch carefully and turn them over because they will burn quickly!!)
