Low-carbohydrate appetizer. You can fill mushroom caps with almost anything. This can be made with a variety of stuffings, i.e., shrimp, clam, oyster, cheese, or pesto.

Ingredients For sausage stuffed mushrooms

3/4 stickbutter or margarine

1 pkgspicy breakfast sausage

1 pkgcream cheese, room temperature

1 smonion
-
1/2 cpepperidge farm herb stuffing mix

1 clovegarlic
-
24 mdmushroom caps
-
fresh parsley for garnish
How To Make sausage stuffed mushrooms

1Wash mushrooms, remove stems, place caps bottoms-up in rows on cookie sheet.

2Brown sausage until crumbly, drain fat.

3Saute onion until tender.

4Mix onion, cream cheese and cooked sausage in bowl.

5Add breadcrumbs until mixture holds together with stuffing consistency.

6Fill mushroom caps.

7Add a small parsley sprig and bake 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees.
