Can't go wrong with a Caprese Salad, and these cute little bites turn it into a fun, cookout appetizer! I did not add amounts, as it is easily increased or decreased, to suit your needs, without wasting ingredients.

Ingredients For lady bug caprese salad

  • sliced fresh mozzarella
  • fresh basil leaves
  • cherry tomatoes, cut in half
  • black olives, cut in quarters
  • balsamic reduction, for spots
  • extra virgin olive oil

How To Make lady bug caprese salad

  • 1
    Place Mozzarella slices on serving plate, Drizzle with a small amount of extra virgin olive oil (could drizzle on top of basil). Add one basil leaf, with stem split to resemble antennae.

    Cut a split "tail', to define "wings" on tomato half. May also need to cut off a thin slice at opposite end, so olive will fit closely.

    Add olive head, and add small drops of balsamic reduction, to mimic the spots.

    Serve and delight your guests!
