I saw a recipe similar to this but I tweaked it a little to make it my own. Everyone loves them. I never make enough!

Ingredients For homemade pita chips

  • 1 -22.5 oz
pkg of 6 inch flour tortillas
  • peanut oil--deep enough to fry tortillas
  • french fry seasoning

How To Make homemade pita chips

  • 1
Divide tortillas into 2 stacks and cut tortillas into wedges (about 6 wedges per tortillas) I pkg makes about 120 pie shaped wedges

Heat peanut oil to 350-360 degrees. Fry chips in hot oil about 2 min. turning as soon as they start to brown. Watch them carefully they cook very fast. Scoop out quickly with slotted spoon and drain on paper towel. Can fry about 10-12 at a time. As soon as you drain them sprinkle with french fry seasoning. (found in spice section of grocery store) Then continue with next batch. When completely cooled place in zip lock bag to store. Serve them with salsa..(you might like to try my recipe which I will post next.) Or use them with your own cheese dip or favorite dip. My grandkids love them plain like potato chips. ENJOY !
