I love GAME DAY!! This recipe is a spin-off of my dinner recipe "Chicken with bacon & mushroom cream sauce recipe." I just took this recipe and mixed it all up but substituting the cream sauce with cream cheese and wrapped it in a wonton wrapper as a ball game appetizer. It definitely SCORED!

You'll definitely score high fives with this delicious appetizer. The wontons are perfectly crisp. The inside is smooth and creamy. The filling has a bit of tang from the cream cheese and a smoky flavor from the bacon. So yummy!

Ingredients For cheese appetizers w/chicken, green onion & bacon

  • 8 slice
    bacon
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced garlic
  • 8 oz
    chicken breast, cooked and shredded (shred with two forks)
  • To taste
    garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, paprika
  • 3 lg
    green onions
  • 1/2 c
    Parmesan cheese
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp
    parsley
  • 1 pkg
    wonton wrappers
  • 1
    egg

How To Make cheese appetizers w/chicken, green onion & bacon

    Cook bacon until crispy. (While your bacon cooks start on step 2.)
  • Chicken cooking in a skillet with garlic.

    Heat olive oil. Add minced garlic to a skillet, roast for 1 minute. Add shredded chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, paprika to taste. Cook until chicken is cooked through. Remove from heat, set aside. NOTE: The Just A Pinch Kitchen Crew added the step by step photos on here. They did not shred the chicken which is fine too. You can do whatever is easiest for you, but I find shredded chicken is best for the size of the wonton.
  • Combining chicken, cheese, bacon bits and cream cheese together.

    Combine cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, chicken, chopped green onion and crumbled bacon.
  • Whisking egg in a bowl.

    Whisk the egg in a small bowl.
  • Dolloping filling into the center of the wonton.

    Add a teaspoon of mixture in the center of a wonton wrapper. Fold or roll in any way that's easiest for you. Use egg to seal the wonton.
  • Frying wontons in oil.

    Heat vegetable oil in a skillet on medium-high heat. Cook wonton until browned and crisp and serve.
