Years ago I acquired a recipe brochure put out by the state Agriculture office promoting the use of Louisiana products. This recipe is a little time consuming, but I am always looking for something that is a little different and not the same old recipes.

Ingredients For blt appetizer

  • 1
    loaf of bread
  • 2 c
    mayonnaise
  • crisp lettuce slices
  • 1 1/2 c
    bacon bits ( or tiny slices of freshly cooked bacon )
  • sliced cherry tomatoes

How To Make blt appetizer

  • 1
    Using a small, sharp, round cookie cutter (about the size of a quarter), cut out circles of bread and lettuce.

    Place bread round on cookie sheet and toast lightly on both sides. Set aside.

    Mix mayonnaise with bacon bits. Spread mayonnaise mixture on toasted rounds and top each with a piece of lettuce and a cherry tomato slice.
