I got this recipe from my Aunt that lives in New Orleans. They have these at their parties. I made them for the holidays and will be making them for my grandsons wedding reception. You can also freeze them for a later date.

Ingredients For tamalie party balls

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lb
    pork sausage
  • 1 1/2 c
    corn meal
  • 3/4 c
    v-8 juice
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 4 clove
    garlic
  • 2 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp
    cumin powder
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • sauce
  • 5 c
    v-8 juice
  • 2 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp
    cumin powder
  • 2 tsp
    salt

How To Make tamalie party balls

    Mix all of the ingredients together and form into small balls.

    Place the meatballs in a large saucepan.

    Mix the sauce ingredients together.
  • 4
    Pour over the meatballs.
  • 5
    Cook on medium heat for 45 to 60 minutes.Stirring ocassionaly.
