swedish meatballs with sauce
My family love these. They are very good and less calories than other kind of meatballs. I sometimes serve these with a salad, asparagus, and rice or potatoes.

2 Tbsponion, chopped

2/3 csoft bread crumbs

1/3 cwater

1-1/2 lbground turkey of chicken

1/4 lblean ground beef

3/4 tspsalt
-
1/2 tspground allspice

1/4 tspwhite pepper

1egg, beaten
- INGREDIENTS FOR SAUCE

1 cbeef broth, reduced sodium

1-1/2 Tbspcornstarch
-
1/2 cevaporated skim milk
How To Make swedish meatballs with sauce

1Coat a skillet with cooking spray. Heat skillet over medium heat until hot.

2Add onion and sauté 2 minutes. Set aside.

3Combine bread crumbs and water; let stand 2 minutes. Add egg. Mix well.

4Add salt, ground allspice, white pepper, and onion. Mix well.

5Add meat and mix again.

6Shape into meatball by using a teaspoon for small ones or tablespoon for bigger ones. Arrange meatball on rack of broiler pan. Place rack in broiler pan and broil for around 10 min for small ones and 12 minutes for bigger ones.

7While meatballs are cooking, Combine cornstarch and broth in sauce pan. Stir and bring to boil. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Add milk and blend well.

8To serve, place meatballs in plate and spoon the sauce over them. 5 meatball and 2 tablespoons of sauce is considered a serving. 96 calories per serving.
