These always go over well when I serve them. Most times I get requests to bring them to parties. This needs to chill overnight.

Ingredients For stuffed bread appetizers

1 - 8 oz pkgcream cheese, softened

1 - 3 oz pkgcream cheese, softened

1 cchopped celery
-
1/2 cchopped sweet red pepper

1 cshredded cheddar cheese. (4 oz)

1/2 cchopped water chestnuts

1 tspgarlic salt

1loaf (26 inches) french bread, cut in half, lengthwise

mayonnaise for spreading

dried parsley flakes to sprinkle

2dill pickle spears, cut in half or 1/4 if using whole pickles

4 slicedeli ham
How To Make stuffed bread appetizers

1In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Set aside.

2Hollow out top and bottom slices of bread, leaving 1/2 inch shell and discard or save for another use. Spread a layer of mayonnaise over each slice of bread. Sprinkle mayonnaise with parsley flakes.

3Fill each bread half with cheese mixture. Wrap pickle pieces with a slices of ham and place on bottom 1/2 of loaf. Replace top, press together to seal, wrap in foil and chill overnight. Just before serving, cut into 1 inch slices.

4Cooks note: I usually double this recipe. I will make 2 inch slices depending on the crowd.
