Tartare is a raw meat, this is Mom's version.

Ingredients For steak tartare, mom

  • 1 lb
    ground sirloin (do not substitute for a cheaper meat)
  • 1
    egg yolk
  • 6
    capers, rinsed and mashed
  • 3 tsp
    dijon mustard
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • dash
    pepper
  • 1/2 c
    parsley

How To Make steak tartare, mom

  • 1
    Mix beef with egg yolk. Add remaining ingredients and roll in parsley. Refrigerate. Serve with crackers. Can make small marble sized balls and serve with toothpicks.
