Ingredients For pickled chicken

  • 1
    stewing hen, cut into serving pieces
  • 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 6
    whole allspice
  • 6
    bay leaves
  • salt to taste
  • white vinegar
  • 3 oz pkg lemon jello

How To Make pickled chicken

  • 1
    Cover all ingredients except jello with white vinegar and boil till the meat is done.

    Remove chicken to dish. Bring juice to boil and add 1/2 of a 3 oz pkg of lemon jello. Stir to dissolve and pour over the chicken.

    Press down with a plate and when liquid is solid it's ready to eat.
