homemade beef stick
I made this recipe, the first time, many years ago for a Christmas party. My husband and 13 year old daughter are both fans. I usually make it for special occasions. It also lends itself well to variations.

2 lbground chuck

1/8 tspgarlic powder

1 1/2 tspliquid smoke flavoring

1/8 tspblack pepper

1 cwater

3 Tbspmorton’s tender quick
How To Make homemade beef stick

1Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.

2Form into 2 rolls about 1-1 1/2 inch thick. Wrap each tightly in foil.

3Refrigerate for 24 hours to allow it to cure.

4When ready to bake, poke holes along the bottom of foil roll to allow grease to drip out while it bakes.

5Place rolls on a rack that has been placed on a foil lined cookie sheet.

6Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2-2 hours.

7Cool and slice thin to serve with cheese and crackers.

8Variations: add chopped jalapeño and cheese etc.
