I love a stick to your ribs, full bodied dip that tastes great. This one fills the bill.

Ingredients For hoagie dip

  • 1 md
    onion
  • 2
    pepperoncini peppers
  • 1/2
    head iceberg lettuce
  • 1 lg
    tomato, halved and seeded
  • 1/4 lb
    delii-sliced genoa salami
  • 1/4 lb
    deli-sliced roast turkey
  • 1/4 lb
    deli-sliced ham
  • 1/4 lb
    deli-sliced provolone cheese
  • 1 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    dried basil
  • 1 tsp
    oregano
  • 1/4 tsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 1
    10 to 12 inch round loaf of italian bread
  • 8
    hoagie rolls, cut into pieces for dipping

How To Make hoagie dip

    Chop the onion, pepperoncini, lettuce and tomato into bite sized pieces. Dice the meats and cheese.

    Combine the chopped vegetables, meats and cheese in a large bowl. Add the mayonnaise, oil, oregano, basil and red pepper flakes. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

    Carve out the center of the Italian bread to make a bowl. Be careful not to cut through the crust. Cut the scraps into bite sized pieces. Spoon the Hoagy dip into the bread bowl. Serve extra bread and Hoagy roll pieces to scoop it up.
