I've had this recipe for years and haven't made it in a very long time. But I do remember how good these are. No leftovers here!

Ingredients For cocktail meatballs

3 lblean ground beef

1/2 cseasoned bread crumbs

2 mdonions, minced

4 tspprepared horseradish

4garlic cloves, crushed

1 1/2 ctomato juice
-
4 tspsalt
-
pepper to taste
- SAUCE:
-
1/4 cbutter
-
2onions, chopped
-
1/4 cflour
-
3 cbeef broth
-
1 cred wine
-
1/4 cbrown sugar
-
1/4 cketchup
-
2 Tbsplemon juice
-
6ginger snaps, crumbled (optional)

2 tspsalt and pepper
How To Make cocktail meatballs

1Preheat oven to 450.

2Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, onions, horseradish, garlic, tomato juice, salt and pepper.

3Mix well and shape into 1" balls. Place in jelly roll pan and brown in oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and drain. Set aside.

4For the sauce: Melt butter in large skillet. Add the onions and saute until golden.

5Blend in flour. Add beef broth, stirring until smooth.

6Stir in remaining ingredients (red wine, brown sugar, ketchup, lemon juice, salt and pepper, and ginger snaps.

7Simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Add meatballs and simmer 5 more minutes.
