a quick and easy appetizer,or side for breakfast. You can also crumble the bacon and use for soups or salads. I made a small amount and crumbled it on a salad. It is sweet and different

Ingredients For caramelized bacon

  • 1 lb
    bacon, do not use thick sliced
  • 1 1/8 c
    brown sugar
  • 1-1 1/2 tsp
    red pepper flakes, ( depending on your tastes)

How To Make caramelized bacon

  • 1
    combine brown sugar and red pepper flakes. coat each slice of bacon with mixture
  • 2
    transfer to a jelly roll pan lined with parchment paper
  • 3
    Bake at 375 for 10 minutes, turn bacon over and continue to cook for 10 more minutes
  • 4
    Bacon will be done when dark and golden and firm (not black) serve at room temperature
