We always get guacamole when we go to a Mexican restaurant. I decided to make guacamole at home. I found a number of recipes, studied them, and put together my own recipe. After tweaking it, this is what I came up with. My wife says this is absolutely the best guacamole she has ever eaten. Hope you like it too.

Ingredients For guacamole my way

  • 2
    firm, ripe avocados, halved, pitted, and peeled
  • 2 Tbsp
    minced onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped cilantro, leaves and stems
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp
    cumin
  • juice from 1 lime
  • 1 pinch
    cayenne pepper
  • kosher salt to taste
  • tortilla chips for dipping

How To Make guacamole my way

    Coarsely mash the avocados with a fork in a medium bowl.

    Lightly mix in the onion, cilantro, garlic, cumin, lime juice, and cayenne pepper.

    Season the guacamole liberally with salt, to taste. Mix again and serve with tortilla chips for dipping or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
