rich's cheese stix
(2 ratings)
I was incredibly doubtful when my fiance told me that he was making mozzarella sticks by wrapping them in eggroll wraps and deep frying. These are a huge diet breaker, but they felt worth it at the time!!

How To Make rich's cheese stix
-
1Heat oil over medium-high heat or set your deep fryer to 300 degrees. Make sure if you are using a pan with oil you have 2-3 inches of oil, enough to make sure they will be immersed.
-
2Prep is simple: Place a piece of unwrapped string cheese in one corner of your wrapper. If necessary, cut it down so it is short enough from one corner to the opposite diagonally. Roll up, the same way you would roll an egg roll, folding in sides. Take a few drops of water on your fingers or a small brush and run it over the corner when the roll ends to keep it sealed shut.
-
3Cook in small batches 3-5 minutes, until the wrappers turn a golden brown. Remove from oil and set on a paper towel covered plate or tray to blot excess oil. Serve with a side of marinara for dipping and enjoy!

4Halfway through the batch I decided to start sprinkling them with my Parmesan-herb mix, and I liked those best! Here are the directions for the mix. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 Tbsp Parsley Flakes 1/4 Tbsp dried, crushed Oregano leaves 1/2 tsp dried, crushed Basil leaves 1/4 tsp garlic powder dash ground black pepper Mix them all together and store airtight in the fridge.
