Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by my mother, Betty Pruitt.

Ingredients For party cheese ball

16 ozcream cheese, softened to room temperature

8 ozsharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 Tbspchopped pimento
-
1 Tbspfinely chopped bell pepper

2 tspworcestershire sauce
-
1 Tbspfinely chopped onion
-
1 dashhot sauce (optional)
-
1/2 cchopped pecans
-
assorted crackers
How To Make party cheese ball

1Mix cheeses in a medium bowl until well blended

2Add pimento, bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce, onion and hot sauce (if using it). Mix well.

3Chill in refrigerator until firm enough to shape.

4Shape into a ball and roll in chopped pecans.

5Serve with crackers.
