I love chicken, cream cheese, cheese and dips. I came up with this recipe when thinking about an upcoming party I was hosting. I always like to serve a new dip. This dip was a huge success.

This scrumptious dip is creamy and hearty. The Italian seasonings mixed with the tangy dressing are soaked up by the chicken and make this dip delicious. The cream cheese and mozzarella cheese melted together with the chicken is really what pulls this dip together. Set this hot dip out with some tortilla chips or even crusty bread slices and watch it disappear. Depending on how you serve it, you can use it for a casual evening with friends or for a holiday party.

Ingredients For italian chicken dip

4chicken breasts, boneless and skinless

2 pkgcream cheese, low-fat

3 cpart-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded

1 tsptarragon, dried

1 tspbasil, dried

2 tspgarlic powder
-
salt and pepper, to taste
-
1 cItalian salad dressing (i used olive garden signature italian dressing)

1/4 creserved chicken stock
How To Make italian chicken dip

1Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Boil chicken in large pot.

2When done, shred chicken with 2 forks. Reserve chicken stock in case dip is too thick. (can add a little stock)

3Take basil and tarragon and rub between hands to let the flavors come out.

4Take the shredded chicken and mix with the salad dressing and reserved stock. Add the spices and mix well. Salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.

5In a large pot, heat chicken mixture on medium heat. Add the cream cheese and melt.

6Next, add 2 cups mozzarella and melt.

7Transfer to a casserole dish sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.

8Add the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top of the chicken mixture.

9Bake at 350* for 20 minutes increase the temp to 400* and bake for 10 minutes to make golden brown. Serve with corn chips, tortilla chips or any other chip or crackers.

10Note: Can double recipe and place in a slow cooker. Still add part of mozzarella cheese on top. Heat on low.
