My dear friend Marge makes this recipe when we go sailing on the 4th of July and watch the fireworks. She is a fabulous cook and this is a favorite. Enjoy!

Ingredients For fancy cheese ball

  • 2 pkg
    8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/3 c
    crosse+blackwell major grey chutney-use only a fresh jar
  • 1/2 c
    peanuts chopped in small pieces
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    curry powder
  • 1/2 pkg
    coconut
  • 1 bunch
    chop green onions using the green and white sections

How To Make fancy cheese ball

  • 1
    set out cream cheese to soften @ room temperature
  • 2
    put coconut on cookie sheet and toast @350 leaving the oven door open about 6 inches until it's golden brown- keep an eye on it

    chop peanuts real fine-use a rolling pin to roll over small pieces but not into a powder
  • 4
    add all ingredients except coconut and stir in bowl
  • 5
    separate coconut leaving enough to roll the cheese ball in- add the rest of the coconut to the bowl and stir

    form the ingredients into a ball and then roll the ball in coconut to coat
  • 7
    put into the refrigerator-taking out one hour before serving

    you can make this recipe ahead of time-it will last two days in the refrigerator

    eat with your favorite crackers enjoy!
