I went to a party a couple of years ago and our hostess served this recipe on french bread slices. It was absolutely wonderful. It's been a while since I made it so I don't have a picture, but I promise you will love it....I owe this recipe to my friend Jennifer.

Ingredients For brie plus 3 yummy spread

  • 3 c
    pears (large) cut into chunks
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 3 Tbsp
    captain morgan's light rum (you can use rum extract if you like)
  • 8 oz
    brie cheese, diced, and rind removed
  • 1
    loaf of french bread, slced and toasted
  • if you like it a little sweeter, add two tsp. of sugar while pears are cooking

How To Make brie plus 3 yummy spread

    Pare pears and cut into chunks. Place in a medium skillet. Add the butter and bring to a boil..Add the rum and cover on simmer until pears are tender. Remove lid and increase heat, watching carefully to make sure it doesn't scorch. If you have a lot of liquid, you may wont to cook it down some.

    Remove from heat. Slice the Brie on top and put under broiler until cheese melts. Serve on french bread slices or crackers
