  Gather your Ingredients (mise en place).

  Warm up your tomato soup, and reserve.
•

  Brush the melted butter on one side of each of the two slices of bread.
•

  Add one slice of bread, butter-side down, to a skillet over medium heat.

  Mix the two cheeses together, and spread over the top of the bread slice.
•

  Place the second slice of bread, butter-side up, on the cheese.
•

  Chef’s Note: Cook until the bottom slice begins to brown, and the cheese gets melty, about 2 – 3 minutes.

  Flip, and cook for an additional 2 – 3 minutes.
•

  Chef’s Tip: For me, cooking the ultimate grilled cheese is not about two flips, I might flip it several times, until I achieve the exact level of browning that I want.

  Remove from the pan, and carefully cut into strips.
•

  Chef’s Tip: The strips need to be thin enough to dip into the tomato soup.
•
