My family loves olives, especially stuffed. Whenever I go to the Specialty Store, the stuffed olives are so expensive. Sometimes as much as $10 a container. So I decided to make them myself. Here is what I did. My sister told me her girlfriend actually went one step further and pan fried the olives. So I tried that. They were a hit! I hope you give them a try, you will not be disappointed. Recipes and Photos: My own

Ingredients For pan fried stuffed green olives

  • 24
    pitted green olives (i used 2- 6 1/2 oz. jars of queen sized olives)
  • 2 oz
    blue cheese, feta cheese, fresh garlic cloves (your choice) i used all three
  • 3 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1 lg
    egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 c
    bread crumbs
  • 2 c
    vegetable oil

How To Make pan fried stuffed green olives

  • soaking olives in water

    Soak olives in cold water for 15 minutes to reduce saltiness. Drain and pat dry.

    Stuff olives with your choice of cheese or garlic cloves.

    Put flour, egg, breadcrumbs in 3 bowls. Dredge stuffed olives in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.

    Heat oil in saucepan. Fry olives until golden brown, about 1 1/2 minutes. Drain on paper towels, and serve warm. Yummy!
