Ingredients For fried black eyed peas

  • 1 can
    black eyed peas, drained
  • seasoning salt
  • canola oil

How To Make fried black eyed peas

    Drain and rinse beans.
  • 2
    Place on paper towels and allow to air dry on counter for at least an hour.

    When ready to cook, heat oil in dutch oven or electric fryer to 325 degrees.

    With a heat proof strainer (cooking spider) scoop up the peas and place into the hot oil. Only place two scoops in the hot oil to prevent overcrowding.

    Fry until peas are crusty; then drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
