Ingredients For flounder fillet roll ups appetizer

  • 3 sm
    skinless flounder fillets. i used sole, you can use any thin fish of your choosing
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground ginger
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh cilantro chopped you can use any fresh herb of your choosing.
  • 2 Tbsp
    shallots chopped
  • 1 clove
    garlic minced
  • 2 Tbsp
    dry white wine
  • 2 Tbsp
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    heavy cream
  • 2 Tbsp
    unsalted butter cold cut into 4 pieces
  • 2 tsp
    fresh chives minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice

How To Make flounder fillet roll ups appetizer

    Lay Fish on cutting board and cut each fillet in half lengthwise making 6 strips. Season with ginger powder, salt and pepper. Top with cilantro. Roll into a coil and secure with a toothpick. Set aside

    In a small saucepan combine the shallots, garlic,lemon juice, wine and water. Bring to a boil. Arrange fish in pan standing on end and fitting snuggly. Lower heat and simmer covered and poach fillet until cooked through. Remove from pan and keep warm.

    In same pan increase heat to high and reduce liquid to 2 tablespoons. Add Cream and cook 30 seconds. Reduce heat to low and whisk in butter 1 slice at a time. Add chives and serve over fish
