Ingredients For ~ swedish meatballs ~

  • MEAT MIXTURE
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/4 c
    milk - a little more if needed
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    each - salt & onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 - 3 Tbsp
    grated onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh parsley, chopped
  • SAUCE
  • 8 oz
    fresh sliced mushroom, optional ( i didn't use this time)
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 8 Tbsp
    flour - divided
  • 3 c
    beef broth - mixed with 1 tsp better than buillon beef paste - or can use buillon cube or 1 - 2 tsp buillon crystals
  • 2 c
    sour cream
  • prepared
    hot noodles or rice
  • paprika
    and parsley for garnish ~ optional

How To Make ~ swedish meatballs ~

    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Lightly grease a sheet pan. In a bowl, add egg, salt, pepper, onion powder, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, milk, onion and combine. Crumble the ground beef as adding and add bread crumbs. Mix well, trying not to overwork and form into meatballs. Place on prepared sheet pan.

    Bake for roughly 25 minutes or until juices run clear. In a medium saucepan, saute the mushrooms in 1/4 cup butter and salt, until tender. Stir in 3 tablespoons flour until blended - continue cooking for 1 minute. Gradually add the broth and bring to a boil. Continue cooking for a few minutes, then reduce heat. Combine the sour cream and remaining flour and stir until well combined. Stir into mushrooms, add meatballs and simmer for 5 - 10 minutes.

    Serve over hot cooked noodles and garnish with paprika and fresh parsley if desired.
