The horseradish spread and onions for this yummy sandwich can be made ahead. These are delicious little party sandwiches...sure to please at any get together, and can be put together in a jiffy. So good too!

Ingredients For lil beef & caramelized onion sandwiches

  • SAUCE
  • 1 c
    heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 c
    fresh grated horseradish root
  • 1 tsp
    dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • fresh cracked pepper to taste
  • CARMELIZED ONIONS
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 3 lg
    sweet onions - thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    balsamic vinegar
  • fresh
    ground pepper to taste

    cocktail sandwich buns
  • 1 1/2 lb
    deli sliced roast beef

How To Make lil beef & caramelized onion sandwiches

    In a medium bowl, beat cream until stiff peaks form. Fold in the horseradish, mustard and salt. Cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes before using.

    Heat oil in a dutch oven over medium heat. Add onions. Cook, stirring often, 30 minutes or until caramelized. Stir in vinegar and pepper. Remove from heat, cool slightly. Split rolls in half. Spread tops and bottoms of rolls with the horseradish spread. Place roast beef on bottoms of rolls. Top beef with caramelized onions. Cover with tops. Enjoy!
