I got this recipe from a co-worker years ago, in the mid-1980s. She brought this to a department-wide Christmas potluck party, and I begged her for the recipe. It's so good! It's one that we make for most of our family parties, and it's always a hit, even after all these years. People have told me they make a similar recipe using grape jelly (in place of the 1 cup BBQ sauce). That sounds like an interesting version. But I've just always made it using this recipe, and everyone seems to love it.

Ingredients For barbecued little smokies

100little smokies (mini cocktail franks)

1 cbarbecue sauce (i like jack daniels honey smokehouse)

1/2 cketchup

1/2onion, minced
-
1 dashtabasco or hot sauce (optional)
How To Make barbecued little smokies

1Place all ingredients in a large crock pot/slow cooker. Cover crock pot, and cook on High heat for 2 to 4 hours, or until sausages are heated through.

2The warmed crock pot can be placed on the buffet table for 2 to 3 hours before requiring additional heating.
