lavender tea bread
I really enjoy lavender and like to use it many ways. This loaf is made with either fresh lavender or dried. Both are delicious.

Ingredients For lavender tea bread

3/4 cmilk

3 Tbspfresh lavender, finely chopped (or 2 tbsp. dried)

6 Tbspbutter, softened

1 cwhite sugar

2 lgeggs

1/2 tsppure vanilla extract

2 call-purpose flour

1 1/2 tspbaking powder

1/2 tspsalt

1/3 csifted powdered sugar

1 tspwater

1/4 tsppure vanilla extract
How To Make lavender tea bread

1Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

2Combine the milk and lavender in a small saucepan over medium heat. Heat to a simmer, then remove from heat, and allow to cool slightly.

3In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg until the mixture is light and fluffy; add in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk and lavender until just blended.

4Pour into the prepared pan.

5Bake for 45-50 minutes in the preheated oven.

6To prepare glaze: Combine powdered sugar and remaining ingredients. Spread over hot loaf. Cool in pan 20 minutes on a wire rack; remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack.
