This recipe was given to me by Jane Hurst Taylor. The Hurst family was one of the first to settle in Texas and maintains one of the oldest working ranches in the state.

8 cbread crumbs, fresh

2 pkgcornbread mix

4 ccelery
-
4 conions

4eggs

1 Tbsppoultry seasoning

1 Tbspsage

3 canchicken broth
How To Make texas settler's holiday dressing

1Chop Celery & Onions

2Bring celery & onions to a slight boil using chicken broth to soften them, let it cool.

3Blend poultry seasoning & sage into chicken broth.

4Whip eggs and add to broth mixture.

5Mix bread crumbs & cornbread mix in a large mixing bowl.

6Combine everything into the large bowl & mix well.

7Bake at 350 for 45 minutes
