I am using my mom's recipe. We usually didn't make it with the mustard or green pepper. This is a favorite of Jennifer's.

Ingredients For macaroni salad

  • 16 oz
    elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 4 stalk
    celery, chopped
  • 1 lg
    onion, chopped
  • 1 lg
    green pepper, chopped (optional)
  • mayonnaise
  • salad dressing (miracle whip)
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp
    yellow mustard (optional)
  • dash
    white vinegar
  • dash
    sugar
  • to taste
    celery seed (optional)
  • to taste
    salt and pepper
  • 12 oz
    tuna, drained (optional)

How To Make macaroni salad

  • 1
    Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni, and cook until tender, about 8 minutes. Rinse under cold water and drain.

    In a large bowl,stir in the onion and celery with the macaroni. Mix in equal amounts of mayo and miracle whip til desired consistency. Add a few splashes of vinegar, then add dashes of sugar. Mix in tuna Fish Season with celery seed,salt and pepper.

    Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving, but preferably overnight.
