Blue Ribbon Recipe

Give these sausage wonton stars a try at your next party. The wonton wrappers are baked until crisp. A flavorful meaty filling, filled with onions and bell peppers, is dolloped in the center. Shredded Colby cheese almost acts like glue for the filling once baked. Filled with tons of flavor, these bite-size snacks will be a huge hit.

Ingredients For sausage wonton stars

  • 1 pkg
    wonton wrappers (12 oz)
  • 1 lb
    bulk pork sausage or hot sausage
  • 1/2 md
    green pepper, chopped fine
  • 1/2 md
    red bell pepper, chopped fine
  • 2 bunch
    green onions, chopped fine
  • 2 c
    shredded Colby cheese
  • 1/2 c
    ranch dressing

How To Make sausage wonton stars

  • Press wonton wrappers into mini muffin tins.

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly press wonton wrappers into the bottom and up the sides of mini muffin cups.
  • Bake until the edges are browned.

    Bake for 5 - 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned (do not overbake).
  • Brown sausage and drain well.

    In a large skillet, cook sausage until no longer pink and drain very well.
  • Add diced peppers and green onions.
