creamy almond bars

A lady at my church made these for snacks for the VBS leaders last summer and I fell head-over-heels for them. They are amazing! So sweet and creamy, they melt in your mouth. These bars freeze very well.

With the texture of a pie, these creamy almond bars are little slices of pure delight. The crust tastes like a shortbread cookie. On top is an almond cream cheese filling and then a creamy buttercream frosting with a hint of almond. These almond bars taste similar to an almond cream pie.
