Comfort food without all the calories! Was hooked on chili cheese dogs this winter. This is a lighter option with all the flavor!!! Yum! So easy too! Only 260 calories per serving! Adding ingredients adds calories, really not needed...

The combination of flavors in this yummy chili fries recipe reminds me of a chili cheese dog. Sweet potato fries are my favorite and I love using them as a base rather than regular fries. These would be great on game day!

Ingredients For chili sweet potato fries

  • 1 pkg
    frozen, cut sweet potato fries, 1 lb
  • 1 can
    veg chili with beans
  • 1/2 c
    shredded reduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 md
    green onions, chopped
  • cooking spray, butter flavor

How To Make chili sweet potato fries

    Preheat oven to 450. Arrange fries in single layer on cookie sheet, sprayed with cooking spray. Bake about 20 minutes, until crisp. I like mine extra crispy to stand up to toppings.

    In a small saucepan, heat chili over medium heat until thoroughly heated.

    Put fries on a serving platter. Spoon chili over fries. Sprinkle with cheese & onions. Serve hot. Optional toppings that are low calorie: black olives, tomatoes, lettuce.
