I got this recipe from my mother. I love soft molasses/ginger cookies and these are the best I've tasted yet! Please note that the serving size says "makes 48, supposedly" That is probably true if you stick with the 1-inch balls of dough, but I prefer a cookie that is a bit bigger.

Ingredients For ginger krinkles

2 1/4 cflour

2 tspbaking soda

1 tspginger

1 tspcinnamon, ground

1/2 tspcloves

1/4 tspsalt
- ADD:

1 cpacked brown sugar

3/4 cshortening or cooking oil

1/4 cmolasses

1egg
How To Make ginger krinkles

1In small bowl, stir together the first five ingredients and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and beat well. Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beating well. Form 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 10-13 minutes.
