This is one of my top three cabbage recipes. It's healthy and so good.

A super comforting and easy soup to throw together. The sausage adds a wonderful smoky flavor and richness. Cabbage, carrots, and potatoes are basic ingredients but add a lot of heartiness and flavor. A lazy meal on a cold day when you don't feel like cooking.

Ingredients For cabbage and sausage soup

1 cancrushed tomatoes (28 oz)

1 candiced tomatoes (15 oz)

1cabbage, chopped into bite-size pieces

32 ozbeef broth
-
4carrots, sliced
-
1 mdwhite onion, chopped

4 mdpotatoes, quartered

1 pkgsmoked sausage, sliced (14 oz)

water, as needed

Test Kitchen Tips
To get it started, we added a couple of cups of water. Once everything was done, we added a little more water to get the soupy consistency. Also, salt and pepper to your taste.

1Add all the ingredients to a large pot or Dutch oven, stir, and bring to a simmer.

2Cook until the carrots and potatoes are just fork tender, about 1 hour, adding water as needed.
