Ingredients For barbecue sauce

  • 3 c
    chopped onion
  • 2 c
    ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp
    liquid smoke flavoring
  • 3 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried mint
  • 1 c
    dry white wine
  • 3 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c
    dried parsley
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    sweet pepper, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic, minced
  • 1/4 c
    honey
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    hot sauce

How To Make barbecue sauce

  • 1
    Place all ingredients in a pot that is big enough to hold them.

    Bring to a boil.

    Cook, covered, on low heat for several hours.
  • 4
    Tip: To give herbs an extra punch, briefly pound them using a mortar and pestle before putting them in the pot.
