I made this apple crisp for dessert the other night, and it was DELICIOUS! I loved how the aroma of fall filled my home while it was baking. The only thing wrong with this recipe... it doesn't last long! Apples and cinnamon and nutmeg, OH MY!

Ingredients For apple crisp

4 ctart cooking apples, sliced

3/4 cpacked brown sugar

1/2 call-purpose flour

1/2 cquick-cooking or old-fashioned oats

1/3 cbutter or margarine, softened

3/4 tspground cinnamon

3/4 tspground nutmeg

top with cream or ice cream, if desired
How To Make apple crisp

1Heat oven to 375*F.

2Grease bottom and sides of an 8-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray.

3Spread apples in the pan.

4In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

5Cut in margarine or butter until crumbly.

6Sprinkle over apples. Bake about 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork.
