We were just in Hawaii and I had a very good burger at a placie in Kauai called Bubbas. It was right on the beach and it was a Chili Burger served with Coors Beer Chili.. OMG.. it was darned tasty! If I can get the recipe, I'll let you know.. it could be in book #3.

Yes, that's what the pie is. The special part of this pie was a homemade crust and freshly picked berries that she put up in her freezer. Her beef was angus that came off their small ranch. She was an old, crusty, cranky woman that served me and my friend. We were out cross country skiing and found this tavern that said "Broasted Chicken".. but when we went in, she didn't have any chicken.. "Just a burger, take it or leave it!" Well, after we had the burger and pie, I told her something like.. "Amazing burger and that was the best pie I've had since my Grandma's!" She became much more friendly after I complimented her and asked about her recipe. There is one sure way of making a woman happy - tell her how good her food tastes. LOL

There is something so endearing about the hamburger.. that it truly does deserve its own cookbook. The "I can remember the best burger I ever had.." stories are endearing and meaningful to those of us who savor the meaty orb. For me, it was this old tavern out in the middle of nowhere in Montana. I will never forget that Hamburger, or the slice of Black & Blue pie she gave me after I ate it. Mmmmm... fond memories, so thank you!

OK, of all the cookbooks I could imagine, this one takes the cake.. or should I say, burger? What a great idea for a cookbook!! I really enjoyed thumbing through it and never dreamed of how many ways there was to fix a burger. Thank you very much for adding my burger buns recipe. It's a family treasure and I am so pleased to share it with you.
