Looking for appetizers for your game day spread? Since I’m gearing up to host a Super Bowl party, I am. What I’ve been searching for, is snacks that I can leave out for guests and don’t require tons of work on game day for me.
“This is a great alternative to the original Buffalo chicken dip,” thinks Peggy O’Brien. “It can be made ahead and baked right before serving.”
Peggy’s Buffalo Chicken Sliders are great if you want to serve something Buffalo, but don’t want to make chicken wings. It’s less messy too.
Simple to prepare, the number of sandwiches you make can be scaled based on how many people you’ll be serving. Stuffed with shredded Buffalo chicken, I love the melted cheese on top. Then, brushing melted butter and ranch seasoning mix on top of the Hawaiian rolls adds to the flavor of the sliders.
Part pizza, part sandwich, Kathy Cromer’s (Cincinnati, OH) Hoagie Bake is 100% delicious. The combination of meat and cheese gives this an Italian feel.
Kathy suggests serving it with your favorite pizza sauce, so I made sure to do that. Each bite was yummy. This is a great grab-and-go appetizer that is warm, gooey, and extra hearty.
Staying with the Italian feel, your family and friends will cheer when they see Marie Freeman’s (Poquoson, VA) Over The Moon Pizza Dip on the table.
“It has all of the pizza flavors without the crust,” shares Marie. “If you like, you could serve it with garlic sticks.”
Seriously simple to make, this cheesy dip is full of ground beef and pepperoni. The seasonings (onion powder, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder) add to the pizza flavor.
All you need is four pantry ingredients and you can make Jamie Franks’ (Lake Milton, OH) Game Day Cheese Dip.
“If you have any leftovers, this is great on baked potatoes, fried eggs, hamburgers, or hot dogs,” explains Jamie. “But in my house, it is gone an hour later.”
With a jalapeno kick, this is a delightful way to spice up your game day. Jamie keeps the dip warm in her slow cooker, which I do too. It keeps the cheese nice and gooey.
Simple, easy, and delicious are a few words that come to my mind when describing Debbie Quimby’s (Vicksburg, MS) Sausage Cups.
“My coworker, Sara, brings these to work occasionally and they are almost gone before she sets the platter down,” reveals Debbie.
Sausage balls are always popular and Debbie’s Sausage Cups are a tasty alternative. A biscuit crust is filled with a mixture of savory sausage and creamy Cheese Whiz. This recipe makes a good number of biscuits, so it’s perfect for a crowd. Plus, they’re a budget-friendly appetizer.
Serve any of these appetizers for your game day spread and everyone will be a winner. If you want more recipes for your Super Bowl party, check out this collection. It’s filled with an assortment that’ll make for a tasty game day. Happy Pinching!
