Have Breakfast for Dinner Tonight

Breakfast for dinner

Wondering what to make for dinner tonight? Skip traditional main meals and serve breakfast for dinner. It’s something I love to do from time to time and it’s always a big hit.

Cherie Szilvagyi’s (Deckerville, MI) Spicy Sausage Gravy For Biscuits will add some spice to dinner.

“This is the most requested recipe that I own,” shares Cherie. “Thanks to my son, my recipe is a tad different than most of the standard variety sausage and gravy.”

I’ve made biscuits and gravy recipes before, but this one is a bit different. Using spicy sausage and pepper flakes adds a real robust flavor to the gravy but don’t make the dish too spicy.

If you use store-bought biscuits, that will make for a quick to prepare meal. It also makes a large pot so everyone can have seconds.

Waffles are a favorite in my family. I make a batch and then put out toppings for everyone so they can add what they’d like. Jamie Franks’ (Lake Milton, OH) Big Fluffy Waffles is a great recipe to follow for homemade waffles.

“I always make a double batch and then I freeze what is left over,” explains Jamie.

Forget about pre-made waffle mixes, these fluffy waffles are easy to make and so yummy. They’re made with ingredients you probably have in your kitchen already. With a hint of cinnamon, they are crisp on the outside and fluffy inside.

French toast more to your liking? Then, check out Diane M.’s (Twin Falls, ID) Coconut Berry Macadamia French Toast.

“I love nutty, loaded sweet stuff,” reveals Diane. “This has all my favs all put together.”

When presented, this French toast looks almost too good to eat! I have used both strawberries and raspberries when preparing this and both are delicious.

The macadamia nut/coconut coating gives you a surprise crunch and the filling isn’t overly sweet. A fancy, but easy, French toast recipe.

Janie Frey’s Southwest Breakfast Frittata Quesadillas combines two recipes that I absolutely love.

“I had tortillas left from another meal and asked my hubby to make his much loved scrambled eggs,” says Janie. “My plan was to make breakfast burritos. However, I decided to try the concept of combining scrambled eggs, tortillas, veggies into a frittata quesadilla.”

Janie’s experimenting turned into a yummy breakfast frittata. Filled with traditional frittata ingredients, I really enjoyed the turkey bacon, bell peppers, and cheese. They’re sandwiched between two tortillas. I think this will quickly become a family favorite.

“This is a great recipe that will feed several people,” thinks Jeanne Benavidez (Odessa, TX) of her Chile Rellenos Breakfast Casserole. “I make it when I’m with my family at the lake house… easy one-dish meal.”

Chile Rellenos is a classic Mexican dinner. Converting the dish into a breakfast casserole is genius and I like to serve this at dinner.

It’s hearty and packed with so much flavor. I use the optional spicy breakfast sausage and feel it really adds to the overall flavor. But add what your taste buds like. It’s a delicious dish.

When you’re looking to change up your dinner routine, give breakfast for dinner a try. It’s a fun change from the usual and I think your family will enjoy it. Happy Pinching!
