The big game is around the corner! It’s a Sunday where calories don’t count, and you’re guaranteed to enjoy good food. I love to make slow cooker recipes for the big game because it frees up the oven for other goodies.
Sheila Kremer’s (Tyndall, SD) Loaded Nacho Dip is loaded with all kinds of texture and flavor.
“It is always the first to go at get-togethers,” reveals Sheila. “You can spice it up or down, depending on how hot you like it. If there’s any left, the next day it’s great over scrambled eggs or baked potatoes.”
The dip is full of ground meat and yummy smoky bacon. Super cheesy, this makes a lot, so perfect for a crowd. And if you use the liner like recommended, clean-up is a breeze.
“A very big hit with the family,” is how Nelda Carnley (Jack, AL) describes her Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches. “We ate ours with ranch dressing and cheddar cheese.”
This Buffalo chicken sandwich is so good your guests will never guess how super easy it is to make. It’s like wings and a hoagie all rolled into one.
For me, game day isn’t complete without something Buffalo on the menu and these are a great option. When serving, dip them in more Buffalo sauce, ranch, or bleu cheese.
Another must-have is chili and Kristin Pitts’ (Fort Bragg, NC) Taco Chili Supreme is a flavorful one.
“This recipe started out as a 5 ingredient Crock Pot dish,” shares Kristin. “It has evolved over the years and has become a staple meal in our house.”
This taco-inspired chili definitely has a delicious Southwestern flair. Substituting ground turkey for beef lightens up the meal and makes the chili a bit healthier.
Add a little cheese and sour cream (if you’re not worried about calories) and you have an awesome easy chili.
Sheree Beaty’s (Greece, NY) Crock Pot Hot Dogs can be an appetizer or a main meal.
“So easy and delicious,” says Sheree. “You can use hot dogs and cut up yourself or use the little cocktail hot dogs.”
Cut the hot dogs into bite-size pieces for an easy appetizer as Sheree suggests. Or, you could keep them whole and serve them on a bun with the delicious, sweet, and tangy sauce drizzled on top. Yum!
Pulled pork can be served in a variety of ways on game day. On top of nachos, for tacos, or as a sandwich. That’s why I love to make it.
Bre Van Patten (Vale, OR) shared her recipe for Amazing BBQ Pulled Pork that’s worth the time waiting for it to cook in the slow cooker.
“This is my go-to potluck, party, and get-together recipe,” explains Bre. “The amount of flavor this pork has will knock your socks off and everyone will be asking you for the recipe.
Flavorful is right! The pulled pork is sweet and tangy since it slow cooks in soy sauce, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and spices. It just falls apart when you remove it from the Crock Pot.
Whatever you crave, any of these slow cooker recipes will be a winner on Feb 13th. If you want more game day recipes (that aren’t slow cooker specific), check out our The Great Tailgate collection. It’s filled with great ones. Happy Pinching!
