It doesn’t matter how much food I eat there’s always room for dessert, especially during the holidays. Pie is what’s traditionally served on my Thanksgiving dessert menu. Today, I thought I would share five easy pie recipes that’ll deliciously complete the meal.
“This pie was served at Thanksgiving and Christmas for as long as I can remember,” shares Diane Atherton (Pine Mountain, GA). “It’s a wonderful pie, to say the least.”
Diane’s Mama’s Pecan Pie is a beautiful pie anyone would be proud to display on a Thanksgiving table. When it was cooking, the mixture on the stove smelled like butter toffee. Diane includes a regular recipe and a richer version (with more sugar and butter if you want to be indulgent). Either will be a delicious addition to your meal.
Sena Wilson’s (Lake Jackson, TX) Pecan Fudge Pie is a chocolate pecan lovers dream.
“It seems pecan pie is a favorite among many any time of the year,” says Sena. “Since I am partial to chocolate and fudge, the combination of both pecans and chocolate is the best of both worlds for me. This recipe is not only delicious but very easy to prepare and bake.”
The center is nice gooey and you get a great crunch from the pecans. Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream… heavenly!

“My mother-in-law made this pie for every holiday and we all loved it,” explains Lucille. “I have made this pie over the years and even those that do not care for pumpkin pie love this since it is spicy and not too pumpkiny.”
This will definitely not disappoint during the holiday season. It’s so good, you may be adding it to your Christmas menu too. It’s a simple old-fashioned recipe full of pumpkin spices without being overpowering.
Apple pie is traditional on Thanksgiving. This year, try Melanie Campbell’s (Rumford, ME) Bite-Size Apple Pies. That way even if someone is still full, they can at least have a little pie.
“Make sure to make the homemade apple pie spice,” thinks Melanie. I highly suggest that too. The combination of flavors is great. Cardamom has a strong, spicy flavor that works well with the cinnamon and nutmeg.
The pies on their own are delicious with the crunchy gingerbread cookie crust. But drizzle the caramel sauce on top and no one will be able to resist these adorable apple pies. The caramel sauce is going to be a staple in your fridge.
If you really want to switch up the dessert menu and have something not traditionally served at Thanksgiving, try Linda Gable’s (Powell, OH) Perfect Peanut Butterfinger Pie.
“I combined several recipes for Butterfinger pie and peanut butter pie and then added my own special touches,” reveals Linda. “The result was an absolutely perfect pie. Even those who proclaim it to be too rich keep going back for just one more bite!”
Linda’s pie is very rich and divine. Each creamy bite is filled with bits of crunchy Butterfinger goodness. The cream cheese adds a little tanginess. We chose an Oreo crust and it paired well with the chocolate of the candy bar. It’s very simple to make and packs a punch of peanut-buttery flavor.
