“Best Biscuit Ever! I just made these this morning and my husband and I agree that these are the best biscuits we've ever eaten. I followed the recipe as written. I even baked them in a cast iron skillet which gave the biscuits a wonderful, golden, crispy but tender bottom and edge. The interior texture is soft and fluffy with that old-time biscuit flavor you knew as a kid. The lard is a must! Make sure your lard is fresh and does not have the slightest rancid flavor at all. Rolling the dough into balls and flattening them slightly is MUCH easier than rolling and cutting. And I've never had a rolled biscuit that tasted as good as these.
